About the hub.
waterbears.info is a static, image-heavy fan-and-science site for tardigrade lovers. It is not a journal, not a lab, and not a toy NFT. It is the cabinet we wanted to bookmark.
v1 ships nine HTML pages, a distinctive moss / microscope / deep-teal / coral palette, and a pile of Wikimedia Commons photographs because tardigrades are already beautiful and already licensed if you bother to look.
Tone: serious enough to name Jönsson 2008 and Hashimoto 2016, playful enough to sell a coming-soon coloring book called Moss Piglets. We would rather be a well-kept amateur museum than a content farm.
Editorial rules: no invented citations. No “scientists say” without a paper that exists. Prefer the Sources page over a decorative DOI. Taxonomy follows current usage (Hypsibius exemplaris for the Z151 lab strain) and says so when names moved.
What v1 is not
A checklist of 1,400 species. A shop with inventory. A place that will tell you tardigrades are immortal, or that they colonized the Moon as an ecology.
